Memory of Lost Language

My sculptural practice explores transformation through material, process, and experimentation. Working with brass casting, wax, found plastic, and found iron scrap, I investigate how materials change, accumulate, and reveal traces of their own making. Rather than treating process as something hidden, I see it as an integral part of the final work. Many of my sculptures emerge from overlooked or discarded materials, including casting residues, industrial scraps, and everyday found objects. By preserving, assembling, and transforming these fragments, I question conventional ideas of waste and value, allowing materials to take on new forms and meanings. Their textures, marks, and imperfections become evidence of time, labour, and material memory. The forms I create remain open-ended and ambiguous, often suggesting growth, movement, containment, or unknown living structures without directly representing them. I am interested in the space between the familiar and the unfamiliar, where viewers are encouraged to bring their own experiences and interpretations to the work. Through experimentation with both traditional casting techniques and found materials, my practice challenges the distinction between process and finished object. By revealing what is usually concealed and reimagining what is often discarded, I seek to create sculptures that embody continual transformation, inviting reflection on the evolving relationship between material, form, and imagination.
